We have stopped her for dinner twice, each time was a wonderful experience. The restaurant is clean and the food was incredible. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. My favorite pick was their Cuban combo for an entree and their coconut flam was out of this world delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant for outstanding Cuban cuisine.
Our dear friend Britt Z was spot on with her January 3, 2024 five star review! That review led us to our lunch destination while out running errands. A friendly greeting and immediate seating in the front dining room. Our server arrived immediately and introduced himself and took our drink orders. I ordered a Materva, one of my favorite Cuban soft drinks. We were not rushed as we looked over the menu and daily specials offered. I chose the Vaca Frita with yellow rice, black beans and sweet plantains. My Vaca Frita was so tender it was falling apart on the fork as I cut it. Flavorful and complimented with some grilled onions, I had no problem finishing my meal. My wife and I shared an order of House Flan (typical) that was plated with plenty of caramel sauce. We will be back here for sure ... and if available, bring Britt Z along with us!
We had an excellent lunch here. Thank you, Britt Z, for your review. After reading it, I had bookmarked the restaurant, and we finally came to try it out. Not only was it one of the best Cuban meals we've had in Palm Beach County, but it was one of the best we'd had in some time in Broward or even Dade. Located on the outside of the Wellington Mall, the restaurant was easy to find. And there's a lot of parking right outside as well. It was fairly busy during lunch time, and we now understand why... They have a lot of specials from which to choose -- full meals as well as sandwiches. And everything on the menu sounded good. My husband got their vaca frita. This is "fried" beef that is cooked so tender that it shreds and falls apart when you start to cut it. He said it was wonderful. I had the baby churrasco steak. I liked that they served the chopped onions and chimichurri sauce on the side. The steak was flavorful and tender. I loved it. We both got sweet plantains (maduros) as one of our sides. They were good, but I like them a bit more well done. I got moros (mixed rice and black beans) and it had bits of green pepper and pork in it. My husband got the yellow rice. We were both "happy campers". For dessert, we shared their classic flan. Uno flan con dos cucharas. The flan was bathed in rich caramel, and we spooned up every bit. We're definitely coming back to try more of their menu.
Lunch today was grilled chicken with onions(bistec de pollo ) Cuban sandwiches and fried pork chunks plus lotsa rice beans and plantains. Everything was super fresh and flavorful with large portions and good prices. I'll be back
I'm starting the new year with a five-star review. This restaurant has it all; delicious cuban food, great service, and very fair prices. This review is long overdue as I was here a few months ago, but I remember how amazing my meal was. The soft music playing in the background was perfect. The ambiance is casual but very nice. My server was attentive and fun. A large selection of lunch specials are available daily from 11am-4pm. The complimentary garlic bread is addictive! I took one piece and pushed the basket away, but I went back for a second piece. I just couldn't resist the warm, buttery, and garlicky crispy bread. I went with the Lechon Asado con Arroz Moro lunch special. The slow cooked pork was marinated in mojo sauce and had plenty of sautéed onions, which I love. The pulled pork was excellent, so moist and juicy. My picture doesn't look like a super large portion, but it really was. I had enough leftover for dinner. I requested the plantains to be cooked a long time as I love them well done. They were so good and very sweet, just the way I like them to be. All of this amazing food was just $12.99. The dish came with three sides, which was a lot of food for lunch. The moros counted as two sides, and rightfully so, considering the amount of black beans that were mixed into the rice. Both the pork and moros were seasoned so well, and everything was so flavorful. My plantains were saved for dessert, and they were the perfect, sweet treat to end my amazing meal with. I have never had such delicious cuban food before I came here. I have had good cuban food, but the food served here is on a whole different level. I must mention that the garlic sauce that was served on the side was just crazy good. I love garlic, and this was right up my alley. They are located on the outskirts of the mall. I was actually looking for another restaurant, and I made a wrong turn into this plaza, which turned out to be the best mistake I ever made. Highly recommend!
Love this place. Place is clean, ambiance is nice. Beautiful art on the walls. My second time at this location. My food was yummy, so flavorful. One of us did order the arroz con pollo (not pictured) off the lunch menu but wasn't to happy with the color of the chicken, maybe needed to be broiled so it doesn't look as if needed more time cooking. Other wise everything was good. Drinks were amazing. Service was great. Waitress was very attentive. Parking was easy. Overall great experience.
Family in from NY wanted Cuban food, so we made a reservation at this local little place outside of the mall. There are three locations in the area. we started with an assortment of appetizers, Crocettas, empenadas, tamales with pork, and fried banana chips. then we had a Caldo Gayego soup. For our main dish, we had Cuban steak, rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. Everything was perfect and delicious. Maria was one of the top servers we have had in some time. She was so nice, timed all the food perfectly. There was seqting inside and out, and they had a Cuban feel to the place on the way they deigned the walls and not to noisy. I would say our table was the loudest. Authentic Cuban food!
